about the doolallys

Sean and Julia Lally founded The DooLallys in the early 2000s during their time travelling around England in a narrowboat. In 2007 their son Oak was born, and as he has been learning Irish fiddle from the age of 5 and is now a fully fledged adult, he's become a welcome additional to the band.

The DooLallys are influenced by British and Irish folk traditions, and their performances contain the odd completely unpretentious foray into the wilds of the mythopoetic spoken word. They carry the imprint of the lands of Oxfordshire, of the UK Westcountry, and the anarchic energy of the city London with them and into their music.

You can now generally catch them banging out a set of tunes in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland, where they currently reside.
